HiNova EDGE COOL 06i and 15i
Compact split DX cooling for rack and edge infrastructure, with intelligent capacity control. EDGE COOL combines a BLDC inverter compressor, EC indoor fans, 1 kW electric heating and Comfuter control. The 06i and 15i selections deliver rated cooling capacities of 6.3 kW and 15.2 kW respectively at 40°C outdoor ambient under the rating conditions listed in the technical specifications.
EDGE COOL indoor cooling unit
Compact form and flexible integration
EDGE COOL pairs a compact indoor evaporator with a remote air-cooled condensing unit. The inverter compressor is located outdoors, with refrigerant pipework connecting the two sections. The letter i identifies the inverter models.
- EC 06i selection: top air discharge, matched with the HIC06 outdoor unit.
- EC 15i selection: front air discharge, matched with the HIC15 outdoor unit.
Product views are illustrative. Confirm final mounting, clearances and connection positions against the approved general arrangement drawing before installation.

Stepless capacity adjustment
Comfuter varies compressor frequency with temperature demand, allowing capacity to follow the cooling load within the configured operating limits.
Part load efficiency
Reducing compressor speed when demand falls can reduce power consumption and avoid unnecessary full-capacity operation. Savings depend on the application.
Smoother operation
Fewer start and stop cycles and smaller temperature swings support stable conditions. Controlled acceleration reduces abrupt compressor loading.
Reduced unnecessary drying
At part load, suitable compressor and airflow settings can allow a warmer evaporator coil. Less condensation means less moisture is removed from the air, which can reduce the need to add humidity back.
Humidity must be assessed against the room dew point, moisture balance and operating conditions. Inverter control does not add moisture or guarantee relative humidity control. Dry incoming air may still require humidification. The supplied controller documentation does not establish closed-loop RH regulation. Any temperature response illustrations in the brochure are illustrative and are not EDGE COOL test data.
Refrigerant management
Electronic expansion valve
Electronic expansion valve
The electronic expansion valve meters refrigerant as compressor speed and cooling demand change. Automatic valve adjustment targets the required superheat at the evaporator outlet. When correctly configured, responsive refrigerant control helps use the evaporator effectively and limits liquid refrigerant return.
MCHE condenser coils
MCHE condenser coil
Small parallel refrigerant passages and louvred fins provide a large heat-transfer area in a compact coil. All-aluminium construction can reduce coil weight and refrigerant charge compared with conventional tube-and-fin designs. Benefits depend on coil design and duty; no fixed percentage saving is claimed.
Control and electric heating
The Comfuter FC264 wired LCD provides temperature, mode and fan selection, fault codes and service parameters. EC fan control coordinates airflow. Both models include 1 kW electric heating.
Component images illustrate the technology; the appearance of supplied components may vary.
Matched outdoor units
Both remote air-cooled condensing units use BLDC inverter compressors and MCHE condenser coils.
HIC06 outdoor unit
- HIC06: matched to EDGE COOL 06i, with one Ø450 mm fan and 5,500 m³/h condenser airflow.
HIC15 outdoor unit
- HIC15: matched to EDGE COOL 15i, with two Ø450 mm fans and 10,000 m³/h condenser airflow for the 15.2 kW selection.
